McInnis Park Golf Course

McInnis Park is the perfect course for those new to golf and those who want to sharpen up their short game. Unlike many 9-hole courses, McInnis Park includes three holes where you can use short woods or finessed drivers. More experienced players sometimes leave the woods in the car and play with irons and putter only.

Signature Hole

The number 6 hole is a 248 yard par 4 that measures 276, 248, and 204 from the back, middle, and front tees. The green is well protected on the left by bunkers and water, and the approach is fairly narrow. A long iron from the tee is usually safe because of a fairly large landing area about 100 yards from the hole. The green is long, undulating, and sweeps to the left. The shot is somewhat more difficult when the hole is at the back of the green. The staff agrees that this is the signature hole, even though the 4th is the number 1 handicap.

Special Features

One of the pleasant surprises at McInnis park is the wildlife you encounter. The course is adjacent to a tidal marsh on the San Pablo bay and it abounds with birds and small animals. I've seen flocks of white pelicans and canadian geese flying overhead. Red-tail hawks patrol the area and occasionally swoop down to make a kill. Then there are the golf course residents, including a rabbit who patrols the 7th hole and various small snakes along the 4th. Watch your step!
